Fundamentally why do you do the things you do?
Everyone has core motivations. These core motivations are effectively the desire to fulfill a need. We go about fulfilling these needs in ways that are either healthy or unhealthy.
When we examine the way we seek fulfillment, we can make adjustments to what activities allows us to feel this way. So perhaps a better question is how do we fulfill our needs?
If the emotions we feel after a particular recreation are more or less the same, why wouldn’t we pick the healthy alternative over the unhealthy? Because when a behavior is so engrained in our minds, it is hard to change.
But luckily, we can.
